the retro finder in frost
Frost is a new purple translucent frame for The Retro Finder — a lavender-tinted shell with the pastel-rainbow gradient glowing through it. In shade it reads cool gray; the moment the RGB comes up it turns lavender, then lilac, then full rainbow. Built for Mac first — the name is a nod to the smiling Mac Finder icon — but it runs PC, iOS and Android too: pair over Bluetooth and switch between three devices without re-pairing.
Frost comes in Compact, but we added a new size for the lavender colorway. We're calling it Compact XL — the 75% frame, all function keys are in reach while still matching the width of our Compact bestie.
Those are the basics. What the spec sheet doesn't tell you is that being into your own workspace makes you better at using it. That's how this started — chasing a typewriter sound until it turned into the profile we call powder thock: deep, round, a little startup-chime for the hands.
I spent the weekend writing about what makes a keyboard actually work with long nails — the wide low keys, the chalky no-slip coating, the way a tip lands flat and glides off. Truth is I'm just addicted to building something tactile that brings an idea to life.
