the sidewalk chalk build

Keyboards → 1 min read

Finding the last unclaimed slate tile on the sidewalk was half the mission — the pigment always read most vivid on dark gray, before bike tracks or rain got to it. Sidewalk chalk was one of my favorite mediums long before it was a keyboard: same instinct, blending color until it felt right.

Series 03, this build. You can watch me snap each keycap into place over rose gold, transparent thocky switches — a little wiggle before every press, just to be sure it's seated right.

Building these sets is the hobby that lives outside the screen. An afternoon of keycaps, one at a time, is still the most relaxing thing I do all week — silent and thocky sound profiles both live on this one, so it types however your mood does.
